CALL FOR PAPERSPaper Topics: “Geotechnical Case Histories – Systems and Technologies Applied to Sites with Constrained Space” Limited real estate, right-of-way, and environmental concerns are forcing more projects into smaller spaces. The 23rd Central Pennsylvania Geotechnical Conference is interested in case histories presenting systems and technologies applied to such constrained sites. Topics could include excavation support, shoring and bracing, tie-backs, reinforced earth embankments, etc. Idea for 2008…Geotechnical Ingenuity in Transportation Engineering. The 23rd Central Pennsylvania Geotechnical Conference is interested in design and/or case histories presenting creative use of geotechnical “tools” in the transportation industry. Topics could include geophysics, geo-foam, foamed concrete, soil improvement, soil stabilization, rock fall protection, cutting-edge shallow and deep foundations applications, staged and accelerated construction techniques, etc. Deadline: May 25, 2007: Abstracts of approximately 500 words (max. 1 typewritten page).
